All Tactical Medical Courses focus the tactical medical provider/first responder on Tactical Emergency/Combat Casualty Care skills and the tactical environment from point of injury to casualty evacuation to include long term care. This course bridges the gaps between tactical military and civilian high risk/threat settings. This is NOT a shooting course. This course describes the direct and indirect support roles the tactical medical provider (TMP) plays in a tactical situation based on the agencies standard operating procedure. Key courses include Introduction to Tactical Medicine-Military versus Civilian, Introduction to TCCC and overlap, The Tactical Scene, Employment Strategies of the TMP, Triage and Casualty Evacuation, and K9 considerations. This course teaches tactical techniques to be used in a tactical/austere environment and does NOT increase the TMPs scope of practice without permission and coordination of Medical Direction.
